The West Midlands CPD Partnership website is coming soon!
Do you have responsibility for Continued Professional & Leadership Development in a West Midlands educational establishment?
Do you continuously strive to improve the lives of children and young people?
Do you thrive through collaboration and sharing of expert practice?
The West Midlands Regional CPD Partnership has been an active forum for over 15 years. The partnership was originally set-up to explore common issues and ways forward for Local Authority (LA) CPD Advisers across the West Midlands. Over time the group has evolved and new partners have joined, including representatives from Higher Education Institutions (HEI) across the region, Teaching Schools, Research Schools, Multi-Academy Trusts and many others, enabling a collaborative understanding of high quality CPLD. A number of national agencies and individuals that represent independent CPLD organisations also enjoy the benefits of networking with like-minded colleagues. Throughout this time the focus of the group has remained the same - Research & Development to support high quality CPLD in schools. The Partnership meets on a termly basis as a forum to network, develop using evidence-based practice, share experience and expertise, collaborate and peer-critique in a safe non-judgemental professional environment. We have successfully moved this to Zoom to support individuals time and capacity for attending and maximising opportunities. Colleagues who attend the forum tend to have a remit around CPLD in their educational establishment (e.g. Research School, Teaching School, MAT, School, HEI, LA et al) across the vast West Midlands region. Over time the Partnership has been responsible for the production of a variety of resources and guidance that have been used to improve CPLD practice in schools across the region. These include:
CPD Leadership - Guidance - a folder of resources for CPLD leaders in schools
A research project focused on the leadership & management of CPLD in schools
Performance Management - guidance & support documentation for schools
CPD Pathways Toolkit – based on the National CPLD Standards
We are looking forward to our next steps with our WMCPD Partnership Forum Members.
